Information

For us, Krishna Valley is not merely an eco-village, a farm, or a community—it is a sacred place, a dhama. Wherever Krishna is present, His eternal abodes are revealed as well. Just as He pervades everything, the Dhama, too, can manifest anywhere—even here, among the hills of Somogy. But we can only experience this if we approach with humility and a mood of service.

We come to the Dhama to live a spiritual life. It is not about sightseeing, but about reducing sense gratification, deepening our devotion, and placing Krishna at the center of our lives. We listen to the vaisnavas, associate with them, and try to serve Krishna according to our abilities—whether in the temple, on the land, in the kitchen, or at the school.

A holy place does not automatically reveal itself. The nectar of the Lord’s pastimes can only be tasted if we approach with a pure heart and sincere desire. Syamananda Pandita only received the darshan of Srimati Radharani after sweeping Kanaka-kunja for many years—only after he had served the Dhama. The secret, therefore, is service. If we learn to serve humbly, we can live in Vaikuntha—wherever we are.

Krishna Valley is not only spiritually significant, but also exemplary in practical implementation. Its focus on self-sufficiency, natural lifestyle, cow protection, Vedic education, and the principle of “simple living and high thinking” all aim to dedicate every aspect of our lives to the Lord’s service. The residents do not only worship Krishna in the temple, but also while working in the fields, teaching in the school, preparing prasadam, or caring for the cows.

Children are educated in this same spirit. Alongside the National Curriculum, the school also teaches Vedic sciences, organic gardening, ecological living, arts, and crafts—so that children not only acquire knowledge but also develop a worldview in which everything and everyone belongs to Krishna. Learning is not the goal, but a means to develop respect for the created world and learn to live in God consciousness.

Life in Krishna Valley does not follow the noise of the world, but rather revolves around Krishna—from the early morning mangala-arati to the day’s devotional services. The essence of community life here is not simply living together, but serving together. The residents have dedicated their lives to fulfilling Srila Prabhupada’s desire, and this spirit is reflected in every detail of Krishna Valley.
